Laura K. Sayers
Laura is an English illustrator and paper artist, living and working in beautiful Scotland for the past decade. She can usually be found in her studio in the heart of Glasgow, making collections of miniature artworks and thoughtful book projects. Her work, which is meticulously made from a combination of cut paper and mixed media, explores universal themes such as finding joy in the every day and the changing of the seasons. She loves finding colour schemes that sing, and honing in on the details of the worlds her stories and artworks inhabit.
She's a member of the Paper Artist Collective, and has been trundling up and down the country for the past couple of years to study part-time on the Children's Book Illustration MA at Cambridge School of Art. Her work has been shortlisted for the Batsford Prize '23 and longlisted for the World Illustration Awards '23 Her clients include: Farrow & Ball, The Fife Arms, HP, Puffin Books, The V&A Dundee, Nicola Benedetti, Not on the High Street, G. F. Smith, Bravery Magazine, & New Music Scotland. Her work has recently been exhibited at Nucleus Portland 'Microdose 5', the Batsford Prize Shortlist Exhibition in London, 'Matisse and the Contemporary Paper Artists' at the Rheged Centre, Paulin Watches (Edinburgh), The Jam Factory (Oxford) and the Copeland Gallery (London).
