Emily Hawkins is a former children’s book editor turned full-time author.
She co-authored the New York Times bestseller Oceanology (2009, Candlewick Press), and wrote several other titles in the internationally acclaimed Ology series. Her works have been short-listed for several awards, and in 2016 she won the Children’s Travel Book of the Year Award for Atlas of Animal Adventures. Along with her background in children’s non-fiction, Emily has a keen interest in myth, folklore and storytelling. In 2020 she wrote A Natural History of Fairies, which has been translated into sixteen languages. She is currently working on her middle grade debut The Ghost Map. She lives in Winchester, UK. |
