Andrea Liebe writes and illustrates children's books in her studio overlooking the rooftops of Stuttgart in southern Germany.
She studied Fine Art and subsequently earned a Master of Arts in Art in Context, specializing in children's cultural work. After many years working as a visual artist and art educator, she decided in 2022 to pursue her dream of creating children's books and embarked on a journey with "The Good Ship Illustration“, where she took courses in children's book illustration. Andrea draws every day and everything she encounters: "No matter where you look, there's something exciting to discover". She prefers working with traditional media: acrylics, gouache, colored pencils, and ink. This gives her space for processes, experimentation, and playful learning. When she's not drawing, Andrea advocates for the rights of children and young people, teaches children at a museum and an art school, attends exhibition openings, or takes walks in the woods with her family and her dog. She loves the vibrant city life, the many people and events, as well as long excursions into nature. For her, it's all about balance. Andrea has illustrated the board book "Our World Germany", publishing this fall by Barefoot Books, and another children's book she is illustrating for Post Wave Children's Books will be published in 2027.
